Promoting biblical worldview

BYC is committed to promoting biblical worldview in the church. That is, the values that influence how we view, critique and interact with issues of our world. It has become common knowledge that many in the church have subscribed to philosophies and thinking patterns of the secular culture.  Ironically, this is exactly what the scripture forbids in Colossians 2:8 when it says, see to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to the human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world and not according to Christ.

We have been told in Romans 12:2 to desist from secular worldview, by not conforming to this world, but yet many in the church accede the popular, liberalist and humanistic views of our time. That verse also made it clear that we must be transformed by the renewal of our mind, that by testing we may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. The church must use the bible as the lens with which they critique all things including the philosophies of our time. All issues must be assessed based on the scripture as either good or bad, acceptable or unacceptable, perfect or imperfect. There should be no sitting on the fence as God totally abhors it, like he told the church in Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22).
