We believe we are to influence our society by building-up each other in the church and continuously maintaining our true reformation. That is how we can regain the relevance of the church lost over the continued actions of supposed Christians compromising on biblical truth in other to elicit favour and false relevance from the world.

In this age, more than ever, truth is a quality and concept that is being eroded in our very eyes, including in the church. In Matthew 5:16, as the church, we are to let our light shine before the world that they may see our good works and glorify God. Ironically, we see that the church is becoming more and more a reflection of the culture.

BYC Academy is therefore committed to seeing the church built-up on the truth of the gospel of Christ (Galatians 2:14). That is at the core of what BYC Academy is about.

WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM?

The name BYC stands for Build Your Church. The name takes the form of a prayer. This stems from the book of Matthew 16:16-18, which says:

…Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God …upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Jesus declared, I will build My church on the truth and revelation of Him as the Christ. The church has therefore continued to be built on Christ as the foundation and cornerstone (1 Peter 2:4-6). As we remain committed to seeing more believers (the church) continually standing on that truth, we are therefore turning Christ’s declaration into a prayer to Him, saying, please “build Your church”. That is, “strengthen Your church (the believers)” (2 Corinthians 12:19) in these end times.
